The Aspen Institute USA was founded in 1950. The institute and its international partners seek to promote the pursuit of common ground and deeper understanding in a non-partisan and non-ideological setting. Aside from “The Aspen Institute”, there are nine independent Aspen Institutes in France, Italy, Czech Republic, Romania, Spain, Japan, India, Mexico, and Germany. The mission of the Aspen Institute is the promotion of values-based leadership by encouraging the reflection of ideals and ideas of a good society. The Aspen Institute offers a bipartisan neutral platform to discuss and elaborate on critical issues. In order to achieve its mission, the Aspen Institute Germany offers three programs, the Leadership Program, Policy Program, and Public Program.
